When my husband proposed. He had planned a weekend away in Taupo and asked my mother for my hand in marriage. It didn't work out that way as we found out we were pregnant a day before the weekend and then a miscarriage put me in hospital. I was sent home to recover and put on bed rest. At my bedside, he dropped to his knee and asked me to marry him and said while it wasn't what he envisioned, the timing felt perfect. While the experience wasn't pleasant, it brought us together and connected us in ways that love only can.
